			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Google es una herramienta de uso diario para millones de personas en todo el mundo. Pero las consultas que introducen sus usuarios, ¿pueden ser representativas de sus pautas de consumo, hasta el punto de elaborar predicciones económicas a partir de ellas?</p>
<p>En Google están convencidos de que la respuesta es sí, y por eso acaban de presentar Google Domestic Trends http://www.google.com/finance/domestic_trends, desarrollada dentro de la división Google Finance.</p>
<p>Como se explica en el blog oficial, se trata de una herramienta que analiza las búsquedas en Google relacionadas con diferentes sectores de la economía. El equipo de Google Finance ha creado 23 índices que siguen la evolución de los principales indicadores económicos, como consumo, automoción, construcción, electrónica o desempleo.</p>
<p>Cada índice parte de una base 1.0 con fecha del 1 enero de 2004, y se calcula y presenta en Google Finance como una media móvil de siete días. De esta forma, se puede comparar la evolución real de un indicador con el índice elaborado por Google a partir de las consultas de los usuarios.</p>
<p>La idea, pues, se basa en que las tendencias en las búsquedas en Google de cada categoría puedan proporcionar información útil a analistas e inversores sobre el comportamiento de cada sector, identificando tendencias cíclicas o periodos de mayor actividad.</p>
